Join me on the Camino

Prayer is life. Prayer irrigates the earth and the heart.
St. Francis of Assisi

I live for those moments when synchronicity strikes. When we look at one another with stunned expressions, wondering how anything so perfect could have occurred solely on its own account. You know the kind I mean, like the time I walked the Camino de Santiago 11 years ago.

It was on the Camino where I quite literally received the message to leave Vancouver and move back to the Maritimes to teach yoga. I remember thinking at the time “You’re nuts! I’m gonna walk away from a comfortable teaching career so I can introduce an eastern way of life to a population of westerners?”

But I knew that my role as a spiritual pilgrim was to say YES, and my life has evolved in ways that have surpassed my wildest dreams.

Living a spirit-drenched life enables us to experience the mystical or mysterious each day and that is what I am most looking forward to as I leave for the Camino again today.

My intentions are clear and simple, and consistent with most people who do this 800km trek—I want to immerse myself in the creative life force that weaves us all together.

And while I’m on this journey, I invite you to join me in wandering these trails that people have walked for thousands of years—in search of love, answers and healing. We could all use a little more of all that in our lives.

I will be in regular contact during my eight day pilgrimage because I want to share this experience with you. And at the end of the week, we will walk (or stagger as I recall) up the majestic steps of the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostella and celebrate our journey!

What you can do right now is set an intention for the week ahead—is there something you’re longing to find? The fact that your heart is seeking, tells us there are answers.

Here’s to Café con Leche!
